NaPoWriMo Update: Instagram Issue and April 18-19 Prompts
Due to an issue with our Instagram account, we couldn’t post the April 18 prompt. While we resolve this by tonight, here are the April 18 and 19 prompts, with submissions due by April 20.
Dear You,
We’re sorry for the inconvenience caused by an issue with our Instagram account, which has temporarily prevented us from posting the NaPoWriMo prompt for April 18. We’re working to regain access by tonight or tomorrow morning and will resume regular posts very soon.
In the meantime, we’re sharing the prompts for April 18 and April 19 here, so you can continue creating without interruption.
You’re welcome to attempt either one or both prompts. Submissions are due by April 20 at poemsindia.in/napowrimo
If you can, please help spread the word by posting this update on your Instagram story and tagging @poemsindia — it would really help others stay connected.
✦ Day 18 Prompt: You’re Hired to Write Political Speeches — But Only in Lies That Feel Good
Imagine you’ve been hired to write political speeches — but there’s one rule: you can only use lies that feel good to hear. Lies that soothe, inspire, and offer hope — even if they stretch the truth completely. Write something that takes the shape of one of these speeches, or explore the feeling of having to create it. You can be satirical, tender, ironic, bittersweet — follow wherever the idea pulls you.
✦ Day 19 Prompt: Your Favorite Memory Writes a Will
Imagine your favorite memory — the one you revisit for comfort, laughter, or light — deciding to write its will. It must choose who inherits its joy, its sadness, its colors, its secrets. Create a piece where the memory gives away its treasures. Let it speak for itself, or let yourself be the one who carries its voice forward.
