The Traces We Left Behind
Dear reader.
As 2022 comes to a close, we want to remind you to be kind to yourself. Remember that what you accomplished this year was enough and you still have another year to make up for what you failed to do.
Even we have a lot of things to make up for. Although we held a number of outdoor poetry reading sessions this year, which were refreshing for all of us who had been cooped up at home, and where we all met, savoured each other's poems and made friends, they came at the expense of our online TSIY sessions, which enabled the gathering of artists from across the nation to one stage, which would not have been possible otherwise.
It was not the best year. Sometimes, we have a tough year or years. Sometimes we just want things to end. Sometimes we learn from our mistakes. Sometimes we don't know, plan, or prepare. We must sometimes be still and sit with what is happening around us.
Anyways, thank you for staying with this newsletter.
As we re-evaluate many things, including our monthly newsletter and a number of new projects to provide ample opportunities for our community members to showcase their diverse range of poetic abilities, we leave you with a collection of poems that we believe you will all carry into your 2023. Traces, a compilation of Select Poems from Poems India features in 2022 throughout all programmes and activities, is attached to this newsletter.
Let's hope 2023 is a better year for all of us.
Warmest regards,
Shivam T.
